This motorhome CHARGE set with AGM battery - SMALL, makes it possible to charge your supply battery via solar while standing or via a charging booster while driving. This makes it clearly superior to a purely solar setup in terms of power supply in the motorhome or camper. If the sun doesn't shine for one or more days, or if you want or need to park in the shade, the battery can quickly run out with a purely solar setup. The 30Ah or 400 Wh charge per hour of driving that this set brings with it is a real blessing. You usually arrive at your pitch with a completely full battery and are much less dependent on sunshine.

A complete connection diagram is included with the NBS, making installation feasible even for beginners. The expected daily output of the solar module (April to October) is an average of 800 Wh/day (max. 1200 Wh on sunny days in Switzerland).

This set comes with a 70 Ah 12V AGM battery. This is enough battery capacity to bridge two cloudy days and, for example, charge an I Phone 40 times, charge a laptop 4-6 times or let 8 LED spotlights shine for 80 hours.

The special thing about our sets for motorhomes and campers: We use an extra solid mounting system for the solar modules that can simply be stuck on. The module can be unscrewed from the spoiler at any time if you need to access the area under the solar module.

We have also paid particular attention to quality at the critical point, the cable feed-through into the interior of the motorhome. The supplied cable gland is made from the same sturdy material as the roof spoiler for the solar modules and is simply glued on. When fitted correctly, the connection is absolutely watertight and particularly durable.

The components of the set:

VOLTIC VDC70 Deep Cycle AGM 70Ah battery

AGM batteries:
- are particularly inexpensive to purchase
- can easily withstand high continuous discharge currents
- can also be charged at sub-zero temperatures

With 70Ah, the VDC70 delivers a total of approx. 840 Wh. However, in order to be able to enjoy a particularly large number of battery cycles, it should ideally only be discharged to approx. 50%, which means 420 Wh "usable capacity".
This is enough battery capacity to bridge two cloudy days and, for example, charge an iPhone 40 times, charge a laptop 4-6 times or keep 8 LED spotlights lit for 80 hours.

If 35Ah or 420 Wh usable battery capacity is not enough for you, you can either choose one of our larger sets with battery, or put the set together manually in your shopping cart with a VDC120, or connect two VDC70 in parallel.

If you want to play it safe, you can also install a BatteryProtect to protect your battery from deep discharge.

A charge level indicator can also be useful to adjust your consumption to the charge level of the battery.

If you also want to charge your battery with shore power, you could simply buy an additional charger.

NOQON NBS30 solar charge booster with integrated 30A solar charge controller

The NOQON NBS models combine an MPPT solar charge controller and charge booster in one device.
When the vehicle is stationary, a 12V battery can be charged via the solar module with up to 20Ah or approx. 280 Wh charging power. When driving, the NBS30 can even charge up to 30Ah or 420Wh.
For optimum battery charging, the NOQON NBS automatically adjusts the charging characteristic to the required values via the voltage measurement cables. In doing so, it compensates for line losses and voltage fluctuations of the alternator that occur while driving.

VOLTIMA Genio BSM180-36 solar module 180 watt monocrystalline

Bifacial modules are particularly suitable for installation on the roofs of motorhomes or camper vans. The angle of incidence of the sun is often lateral in camper reality and so the light from the roof can be ideally reflected onto the lower side of the panel. In this way, a good deal of extra power can be extracted from a small space.
Alternatively, you can also mount a normal module such as the GSM180-36 or simply attach a flex panel such as the GSM180F-36 with mounting tape.

VOLTIMA 5-piece short complete mounting set for solar installation (white)

Spoiler profiles are the first choice, especially for caravans and motorhomes, when it comes to clean and long-term mounting of solar modules. If the modules are mounted in the direction of travel, wind noise is no longer an issue (this also applies to alcove vehicles). The complete mounting set also includes a cable bushing. When fitted correctly, they are absolutely leak-proof and extremely durable.

Sikaflex 554 (Sika 252i replacement) 300 ml construction adhesive (white)

Correctly applied bonding is superior to any screw connection in tough motorhome or boat applications. A strength of over 4 N/mm2 can be achieved on painted or GRP surfaces, a value that would never be achievable with a screw connection in the thin aluminum or GRP carrier layer - and without any holes in the roof. This adhesive set enables even a layman to create an absolutely firm connection between spoilers and the respective substrate.

Before ordering:

Climb onto the roof of your camper / caravan / motorhome and measure exactly whether you have enough space on the roof. Remember that you need space for the solar panel AND the spoilers.

Also take into account any objects that may already be on the roof (skylights, fans, antennas, satellite dish, etc.).

Also plan exactly where your cable feed-through is to be placed, where your charge controller is to be installed in the vehicle and where the supply battery will be and how long the extension cable from the solar cells to the charge controller or from the charge controller to the supply battery needs to be. If the 5 meters of solar cable and 1 meter of charge controller cable provided in the set are not long enough, you will have to adjust the set manually.
