Votronic 3339 DC/DC converter DC/DC 2412-45 24V to 12.5V,13V, 13.5V
This VOTRONIC DCDC series DC/DC converter enables safe operation of 12V consumers on 24V vehicle electrical systems without the need for a separate battery system.
The devices can be operated for short periods with up to 30% overload, so that inrush, peak and starting currents of the various consumers are also absorbed.
Galvanic insulation is installed between the input and output sides to protect against voltage breakdowns, defective earth cables and the like. This ensures perfect, independent earthing conditions on both sides even with long connection cables, which is useful for large vehicles, containers, roller containers, trailers etc., for example.
After activating the DC/DC converter at the ON/OFF control input, which can be done either by a switching signal, vehicle ignition or D+, the voltage monitoring of the battery is also ready for operation (charge detection on the starter battery, undervoltage cut-off).
Output voltage:
It is stabilized and smoothed and therefore ideally suited even for sensitive consumers. The output voltage can be optionally set to three fixed, stabilized output voltages.
In the fourth switch position, the level of the input voltage at the output is variably adjusted.
In this operating mode, it is also advantageous to operate consumers that obtain additional information from the 24V operating voltage, e.g. starter battery is being charged, driving or standby mode, automatic switch-off in the event of undervoltage and battery discharge (small appliances, charging trays, lamps), etc.
Device characteristics:
- The output voltage is stabilized, free of peaks, smoothed and filtered.
- Galvanic isolation between input and output:
- Absolute isolation of the loads and the battery circuit, even in the event of a fault. This is a particularly important feature, e.g. when operating 12V consumers from a higher 24V system voltage:
- No destruction of e.g. 12V consumers in the event of overvoltage due to 24V breakdowns.
- No overvoltage at the output and thus protection of the loads in the event of loss of the earth line.
- Clean, undisturbed earth conditions even with long supply cables.
- Stable operating voltage on site in mobile operation, e.g. containers, trailers, roller containers, etc.
- Filtering and suppression of interference from the input to the output side.
- Fully automatic continuous operation: The DC/DC converter can be permanently connected to the battery and the loads and operates manually or automatically according to the set specifications.
- Monitoring-free operation: Multiple protection against overload, overheating, overvoltage, short circuit, malfunction and battery deep discharge through electronic regulation up to complete switch-off by built-in safety switches.
- Supply cable compensation: Voltage losses on the cables are taken into account.
- Built-in on-board mains filter: Problem-free parallel operation with solar systems, wind and petrol generators, mains chargers etc. on one battery.
