Product information "Votronic 3321 VCC 1212-20 C 12V to 12V 20A B2B charging converter"

The VCC 1212-20 from Votronic (3321) is a fully automatic, non-isolated, battery-to-battery charging converter, designed for operation on the 13-pin trailer connector of the towing vehicle for caravans and motorhomes. The 1212-20 charging converter (booster) of the "VCC" series thus enables the mobile charging of supply batteries (living area/on-board batteries) from the alternator (starter battery) while driving. The device also ensures a complete IU1oU2 charging characteristic curve while driving. The maximum charging current of the VCC 1212-20 is 20A and it can work with lead-acid, gel, AGM1, AGM2 and LiFePO4 batteries. This device charges a 12V battery from a 12V battery / alternator.

In contrast to conventional cut-off relays, the charging voltage is lowered or raised depending on the charging program specification, which is particularly important in connection with EURO standard 6, 6 + plus vehicles.
Universally applicable all-rounder
For on-board batteries in classic lead-acid, lead-gel or lead-AGM as well as modern lithium-LiFePO4 technology, the 8 selectable charging programs guarantee a monitoring-free, fast and gentle full charge from any state of charge with subsequent full maintenance and care of the battery. Even on short journeys, the battery is charged with full charging current. Connected 12 V consumers are automatically supplied with power, even if the on-board power supply is heavily loaded. The automatic power control ensures the necessary safety and starting capability of the vehicle.

Wireless communication
The VCC 1212-20 is B2B- for charging 12V batteries from a 12V alternator or another battery. (Not galvanically isolated).
Designed for operation on a 13-pin trailer connector according to ISO 11446.
max. charging current: 20A, input voltage range 12V, charges 12V batteries, recommended battery capacity: 50 - 160Ah
Increases or decreases the voltage to the required level in order to charge the on-board battery precisely with the optimum charging characteristic.
It fully compensates for line losses and voltage fluctuations in the alternator, such as those that constantly occur to a considerable extent in Euro 6 vehicles (intelligent alternators).
is characterized by its compact design, low weight (high-frequency switch mode technology) and powerfully dimensioned power components for safe operation.
Significantly better energy balance of the on-board battery. No intervention in the starter circuit; the device behaves like a powerful consumer on the alternator.
The supplied 12 V consumers are protected against overvoltage and voltage fluctuations.
The charging voltage is free of peaks and regulated in such a way that the batteries cannot be overcharged.
Fully automatic operation: The device is permanently connected to the batteries and is automatically activated by the vehicle's running alternator. The batteries are not discharged when the engine is not running.
Parallel and buffer operation: The battery continues to be charged or is kept fully charged during simultaneous consumption. The device automatically calculates and monitors the adjustment of the charging times.
Monitoring-free charging: Multiple protection against overload, overheating, overvoltage, short circuit, malfunction and battery back-discharge through electronic cut-off up to complete disconnection of device and battery.
Built-in on-board filter: Problem-free parallel operation with other charging sources (EBL, chargers, engine and fuel generators, solar systems) on one battery.
Charging cable compensation: Voltage losses on the charging cables are automatically compensated for.
Connection for battery temperature sensor (sensor included in scope of delivery).
For lead batteries (acid, gel, AGM), the charging voltage is automatically adjusted to the battery temperature. This results in a better full charge of the weaker battery in cold weather and avoids unnecessary battery gassing in summer temperatures.
LiFePO4 batteries: Battery protection at high temperatures and, in particular, adapted charging at low temperatures below 0 °C. Charging aid for deeply discharged lead batteries: Gentle pre-charging of the (lead-acid, lead-gel, AGM) battery up to 8 V, then powerful support for the battery if consumers are still switched on.
What added value does the use of a B2B charging converter offer me?
The charge converters ensure optimum and rapid charging of the supply battery from the alternator while driving. In contrast to a simple cut-off relay, the charging voltage is raised to the value required for the respective battery type for a full charge and demanded by the battery manufacturers. This means that the full charging current can flow and a considerable amount of current can be charged into the battery in a short time. Long charging cables and losses as well as voltage fluctuations at the alternator are neatly compensated for. Charging converters with different input and output voltages (12V/24V or 24V/12V) make it easy to charge a second battery without installing a second alternator.

The charging converters thus provide the well-known high quality of battery charging of the VOTRONIC chargers even while driving. The intelligent microprocessor charging control with "IU1oU2oU3" charging characteristics and dynamic charging time calculation automatically ensures fast and gentle full charging and subsequent charge retention of the connected batteries from any state of charge and always enables simultaneous supply of consumers in parallel with the supply battery.

NOQON NB60 12V to 12V charging booster 60A
NOQON charging boosters: NB & NBS series They give freedom and save time: the NOQON charging boosters in the NB and NBS series. The letters NB in the series designations stand for "Battery Booster", the special devices for battery charging. This is where the NOQON charging boosters differ from conventional chargers: They allow a 12-volt battery to be charged by another 12-volt battery (battery-to-battery method, B2B for short). The charging process is controlled: the charging booster continuously checks the battery via the measuring lines to ensure that neither the supply battery is overcharged nor the starter battery discharged while driving. NOQON NBS models - charge boosters with integrated solar charge controller The S in the one NB series stands for the integrated solar charge controller, which, as an MPPT version, exceeds the efficiency of a conventional PWM charge controller. When the journey is interrupted or the vehicle arrives at its destination, solar charging starts automatically via the solar modules on the vehicle roof. The NOQON NBS 30 achieves a solar charging power of up to 250 W/20 A, the NOQON NBS 60 even up to 430 W/30 A. Charging process in three steps: Step 1: Maximum current up to the target value for constant voltage charging Step 2: Current decreases, constant voltage charging mode starts, charging time around 2 hours Step 3: Stop constant voltage charging at 12.6 volts battery voltage and start trickle charging Installing the NOQON charge booster The battery technology is selected via a DIP switch: Lithium or lead-acid/AGM/gel. The connection for the NOQON Charge Monitor CM 1 and the external NOQON Bluetooth dongle BTD1 is located on the battery booster. A monitor or smartphone informs the user about the current battery charge status, among other things. Further connections, for example for a voltage measurement cable, temperature sensor or additional supply batteries, are also available. Alternator as generator The vehicle alternator works like an electric generator, which is driven by the combustion engine to charge the starter battery and consumer devices. When the starter battery is finally charged depends on its initial state of charge and the duration of the journey. If the battery is full, it can no longer hold any reserves. This is where the NOQON charge booster comes in handy. It takes over the energy that is energy and stores it in an additional battery. Loss-free charging For optimum battery charging, the NOQON charge booster automatically adjusts the voltage measurement cables to the required values using an exact charging characteristic. In doing so, it compensates for line losses and voltage fluctuations from the generator that occur while driving - both for the battery and for the 12-volt consumer devices. NOQON charge booster - safety functions at a glance: Overvoltage and undervoltage protection of the main battery Undervoltage protection of the starter battery Overload protection for B2B charging Overheating protection Reverse protection NOQON NBS models only: PV overload protection NOQON NBS models only: PV overvoltage protection
