Argofet battery isolator from Victron

With the Victron Argofet Battery Isolator, you can charge several separate battery circuits from just one charging current source - such as an alternator or a battery charger - without having to connect them together. Depending on the model, it is possible to connect 2 or 3 different battery circuits

The built-in FET insulators result in virtually no voltage losses. At low currents, the voltage drop is less than 0.02 volts and at higher currents around 0.1 volts. This means that no voltage increase is required, but care should still be taken to ensure short cable lengths and sufficient cable cross-sections.

As Victron Argofets only allow current to flow in one direction, similar to an isolating diode, they prevent current from flowing back. However, some generator types require a DC voltage at their B+ pole for starting excitation. In this case, the Argofets have a current-limited connection for starting excitation when starting the generator.
