VARTA Powerzone VPZ-LOAD 5000

The Varta Powerzone VPZ-LOAD 5000 charger takes away all your worries about your car battery. Whether you have an AGM, GEL, lead-acid, VRLA or wet battery, this charger will charge it for you. It has an advanced and intelligent microprocessor that controls the charging process. In addition, automatic diagnostic, rescue, charging, maintenance and charge retention functions are fully covered by the VPZ-LOAD 5000.

Removing or disconnecting the car battery is no longer necessary with this device. Set the required battery voltage manually and connect the charger to the battery. If everything has been set correctly, the Varta VPZ-LOAD 5000 charger will carry out the necessary measures for proper and gentle charging. You can also leave the charger permanently connected to the battery (when stationary) using the charge retention function.

If the charger detects a defect or an incorrect setting, an error (display: "ER-X") is displayed.

Safety functions

To guarantee complete safety during charging, the charger is equipped with extensive safety functions. These safety functions provide protection for/against:

• Reverse polarity
• short circuits
• overheating
• Overcharge protection
• overvoltage
• Charging with defective batteries (automatic charge termination)
• Sparking

Charging stages

The charger has a 7-stage charging control, which is controlled and regulated by a microprocessor. This means that the charging stages are set automatically depending on the battery condition.

Stage 3 - SoftStart
Stage 4 - Main charging phase
Stage 5 - Saturation charging
Stage 6 - Rest/overgrowth phase
