Battery deposit - How does the refund work?
According to §10 of the Battery Act, every company that puts starter batteries into circulation is obliged to charge a deposit of 7.50 euros if an old battery is not returned at the same time as a new starter battery is purchased (online).
Step 1: Download and print out the disposal confirmation
Please download the sample certificate of disposal and print it out. If you do not have a printer available, you can request a written confirmation from the collection point. You are also welcome to have this confirmed on our invoice.
Please send us this proof within 2 weeks of disposal and within 30 days of purchase via our disposal request form.
Step 2: Disposal of the old battery
Dispose of your old battery at a recycling center or scrap dealer, in a workshop or at any starter battery distributor in your area. Important:Make sure you have the disposal of your old battery confirmed in writing on your (or on a) disposal certificate.
Please ensure that the battery is transported in an upright position to prevent leakage.
Step 3: Upload confirmation of disposal
Please upload your confirmed proof of disposal using the form below to get your battery deposit refunded. The processing time can take up to 30 days. You will receive the refund using the same payment method as when you ordered your new starter battery.
Note: Please upload the proof of disposal within two weeks of disposing of the old battery and within 30 days of purchasing a new starter battery.
